Christmas in World War II

Learn about the World War II home front. Hear talks about the men and women serving in the war in the US as well as the families that stayed at home. Take a peek into how rationing, blackouts, bond drives affected civilian life, and how customs such as Christmas decorations, gifts, food preparation and ingredients were changed because of shortages.

Gifts from the Heart: hand-crafted treasures for friends and family

Elaine and Robin will discuss the concept of creating holiday gifts for people, using simple materials, ideas and techniques to make one-of-a-kind items for their close friends and loved ones. This presentation is for all ages and will go over how to find ideas, materials, and even skills to make personal and memorable gifts for the holidays.

Take-home craft will be demonstrated and supplied after the presentation.

Drop in the second Tuesday evening or the last Wednesday during the day to chat and work on a crafty project! Enjoy getting to know other crafters in your community while you knit, crochet, embroider or craft anything! We have donated yarn for any crafters looking to create for a good cause. In person and on zoom!

All are welcome, from beginners to advanced.

Book Discussion Group

The group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Call the front desk to get more information and find out about book selections. The group will now be meeting both in-person and virtually.

All writers are welcome to attend our monthly meeting. We have beginners with big ideas to professional book authors and journalists who come and share their work, their constructive criticism, and their experience in the writing field. Please check our calendar for details on our next meeting.
