Fall Story Time Registration

Start your Fall mornings with stories! Registration starts on Monday, September 9, 2019. Classes begin Tuesday, October 1 and will run for six weeks. Registration is required. Please call (201) 288-0485 or stop by the Children’s Desk.

Tiny Tots– Ages: Birth – 2 1/2 and their caregiver. 

Tuesdays, 10:30-11:15 AM 

Thursdays, 10:30-11:15 AM

Preschool – Ages: 3 1/2 to 6

Book Buddies – Ages: 2 1/2 to 3

Hello Fall! Craft & Story TimeJoin us for a Fall Craft and Story Time at the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library on Monday, September 23 at 3:30 pm for children in grades K-3.  We will be reading some great books and making a craft to take home.

Book Bingo Join us for a game of Book Bingo and win prizes! We will be meeting on Thursday, September 19  starting at 3:30 p.m. for ages 5-12.

Lego ClubJoin the Hasbrouck Heights Lego Club!  Show off your architectural talents and come create with us. Legos will be provided. Tuesday, September 10 & 24 starting at 3:30 p.m. for ages 5-12.

Book Clubs for KidsJoin one of our two book clubs for kids, meetings start in October. Starting September 3, books for both groups, along with more information is available at the Children’s Desk.

    Best Books is for students in grades 2-3, and meets on the first Friday of each month.

  Critics’ Choice is for students in grades 4-6, and meets on the third Friday of each month.

Summer Reading Contest – Libraries hold a Universe of Stories! Teens entering grades 7-12 can earn raffle tickets for every book they read this summer- even books on school reading lists! 1 book = 200 pages. Come to the library to register and create your book log. Books must be logged between June 17 and August 23. Raffle prizes will be drawn August 26- the more you read the better are your chances to win!

Teen Readers Club // Summer EditionDo you LOVE to read? Join a teen book club! This is a five-week program where we will discuss the book, eat snacks, and play games! For Teens entering grades 7-12. Wednesday 3:00-4:30 pm. Program runs from July 10 – August 7. Teens who have attended 3 out of 5 book club meetings are
invited to an end-of-summer wrap-up party!

Young Adult Monday – The first Monday in August will be YA Monday! Starting at 6:30, Mondays, August 5, there will be a special event for teens. From trivia, arts and crafts, to movies and ice cream, join us for some fun! For Teens entering grades 7-12. Please register for the event.  Come in to the library for more details.

Summer Wrap Up Party – Teens who have actively participated in our Summer Reading Program, along with Teens who have attended 3 out of the 5 book club meetings are invited to the end of summer wrap up party! We will be having pizza, ice cream and watching a movie! Program runs from 6:00 – 9:00 PM Monday, August 26.

Crafts-to-Share Club

The Crafts-to-Share Club is open to anyone interested in sharing their skills and ideas with a group of like minded crafters. Bring a project.  Beginners are welcome.

Killer Soundtracks-Wednesday, October 16 @ 7:00 PM in the Senior Center

From hidden voices to dissonant chords, tritones to infrasound, music in horror movies is meant to do more than just set the mood.  Composers such as Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th) and Charles Bernstein (A Nightmare On Elm Street) use certain tricks in their scores which can literally shake you to the core.  Explore the spine-tingling affects of how music in horror films keeps you on your toes and forces you to sleep with one eye open.
